One aspect of Pontiac history I admittedly had no real working knowledge of was the unique Canadian-built Pontiacs with Chevrolet engines. Yes, I knew these vehicles existed and have even looked at a great many of them at the various Pontiacs events I’ve attended over the years. My naivety toward them wasn’t scornfulness, however. I guess maybe I considered them sort of an anomaly and figured I would learn more about when I had the time.
Pontiacs on Parade!
1 CommentAs I participated in a parade this weekend, it made me think about the vintage photos that I have in my collection depicting then-late-model Pontiacs used for parading. They provide us a glimpse of the bygone era we cherish when new Pontiacs were the cars to have.

6 CommentsWhile I enjoy watching and hearing dedicated Pontiac-powered race cars, and even those built for street/strip competition make quarter-mile passes on a given weekend, I particularly enjoy seeing factory-stock-looking Pontiacs running really fast in street trim. And that describes Mike Noun and his ‘69 Firebird.

4 CommentsI was thinking about how challenging it had to be for Pontiac's designers and engineers to keep the second-gen Firebird modern and on trend for the 12 model years that it remained in production. That ultimately led to such comfort and convenience features as cloth seating, cruise control, a trip odometer, and a CB radio. That then caused me to reflect on a conversation I had with my six-year-old Sofia just days earlier...

CommentSLP’s Blackwing air lid is an excellent unit that installs easily on ‘00-02 Firebirds and provides a nice performance boost. Installing it on your ‘98-99 Firebird can be a bit more challenging because of the integral A.I.R. port located on the driver’s side. We found a cheap and effective solution to hurdle that obstacle!
